Soccer

Today was Ryker's first soccer game of the season. This year he is number seven and this year they are the Sharks! His team did awesome. Towards the end we were starting to feel a little sorry of the other team. Ryker's team scored many goals, Ryker adding to the list and the other team scored two, and not until the last three minutes! Ryker loves to keep track of the score and is very proud when the other team doesn't score many goals. He's my little competitor!

First Day of School

Ryker counting down the minutes until school started!

My little boy is all grown up. I can't believe that he is now entering school....one in which I don't pay for monthly! He has been in school for a month now and absolutely loves it. I hope his love for school continues as he gets older. He enjoys the fact that there is something new to do everyday such as music, computer lab, library and his favorite PE!

Cadence is ONE

In May, Cadence turned one. I can't believe a year of her live has gone by already. Along with being one, she decided that she no longer wanted to crawl and she has turned into the biggest climber out of any of the children. She will climb into and onto anything she can. Jon once again made the cake and the kids loved decorating and eating their own creations!

Spring and Summer

Spring and summer has had many activities for the kids to do. Ryker played soccer and t-ball and loved every minute of it, especially when the coach pitched to him.

While planting the garden this year, Jon decided to teach Ryker how to drive the forklift. Ryker went one step further and paid close attention to how Jon started it. So not only can he drive it, he can start it as well, watch out dirt creatures here comes Ryker! Miley was along for the ride and Cadence enjoyed playing in the dirt.

Cadence

As the two older ones grow so does Cadence. I can't believe she will soon be one. In the past month she has grown so much. She loves to cruise around with her walker and her hair is starting to come in more. She might catch Miley, when it comes to hair growth!

She also loves to pretend that she can do what the other kids do. Here she is coloring with Ryker.

Birthmark

Also in March, Ryker started to notice that his birthmark had little white hairs growing on it. We consulted a plastic surgeon and were told that it was more likely to develop cancer than any other mole. Therefore we decided to have it removed. Ryker was very brave and after surgery needed very little pain medicine. The surgeon did a fabulous job and Ryker love to show people his scar that looks like a moon!
Before surgery, the mole was getting bigger and darker and we were starting to get more comments on it.

After surgery, the scar is less noticable and most of it is under the chin.

Ryker's Birthday

In March, Ryker turned five. I can't believe that I have a child old enough to go to school next year. It has been very interesting talking to other parents about what schools are good. Since he wasn't able to get into a charter school I have decided to place him in the year round school that we have here. Hopefully all goes well! Ryker loves being five, but now thinks he can do anything. If we tell him he's not old enough he always states, "But I'm five now." This year for his cake he wanted a dinousaur, which Jon did a really good job on. Ryker loves it when Jon works on a cake, especially if he allowed to help. I was allowed to help on this one.....until Jon decided my decorating skills weren't up to his standards, picky. picky!

Miley's Birthday

Since it has been so long since my last post there is much to update. First, in October Miley had her second birthday. Although, if you say she is two now, she gets very upset and informs you that she is 2 1/2. Her personality is getting stronger and stronger! She is very outgoing and will state her mind VERY LOUDLY. :)

Once again Jon was in charge of the cake, Miley loved the butterfly and the flower. The kids are now coming up with ideas of what he should make for Cadence's first birthday.

Summer Fun

I decided that since summer is almost over, I better update on the this that have been going on.
Jon built a dirt track out at his mom's, Ryker has enjoyed riding around on it. He would stay out there all day if he could. The more jumps the better, he is starting to turn into quite the dare devil....I know it is all the crazy motorcycle movies Jon has!

W signed the kids up for swimming lessons. Ryker was a little nervous at first but ended up loving it. Miley on the other hand has no fear of the water, she couldn't get enough of the water! They haven't had swimming lessons now for over a week and she still continues to tell us everyday what she learned and she practices in the tub!

Cadence Jayne Steele

Welcome to the world Cadence Jayne Steele. She was born May 22, 2009 at 10:37 am. This is my first baby that wasn't enduced. She came on her own two weeks early...yeah! She weighed 7 lbs. 3 oz and was 20 inches long. She doesn't have much hair but she does have more than Ryker or Miley had. Ryker and Miley love her and so far they have been pretty good around her. They love to hold her and give her kisses.
I will post more pictures of her later.

Preschool Graduation

Athough Ryker technically has one more year of preschool, he was able to "graduate" because he was in an older class. It was so cute to watch them put on their performance for the parents and receive a diploma! Ryker got to lead the class in reciting the months of the year. He did an awesome job. I can't believe how big he is getting, they grow up so fast.
Teacher Jennie and Ryker. She was an amazing teacher, Ryker had so much fun with her and learned a lot.
Ryker's class, everyone but Ryker and maybe one other child will be entering kindergarden next year.
Ryker's first diploma, hopefully there will be many more to come!

T-Ball

I decided that since Ryker's season was almost over I better post some pictures. This year we were able to sign Ryker up for T-Ball. He has had so much fun playing, although he gets a little disappointed if he doesn't get to touch a ball when they are in the field.

Taking a break while on base!

Ryker's head would get hot, so half the time he would take off his hat, even though the sun would be in his eyes.
Miley also enjoyed going and watching Ryker, although I will have to say I think she enjoyed wearing his hat and glove when he wasn't using them more! It was a fun season to watch and I can't wait to watch as he develops and there is more action!

Ryker's Birthday

I can't believe that I have a son who is now four. Amazing how fast time flies by. Like I said back at Miley's birthday, Jon is usually in charge of the cake, and it never ceases to amaze. This year he even involved some of his tools, below is the creation that developed from his very creative and talented mind!
Ryker thought it was the coolest thing ever. Thank you to everyone who came and for all the calls, you could tell that Ryker felt like the very special boy that he is.

Spring Break

Last week was Ryker's spring break from preschool, so we headed up to my parents in Kennewick. My mom wanted shelves built in her storage room and a few other projects done so Jon brought the trailer with us. So while the rest of us relaxed and enjoyed spending time with family, Jon slaved away!:) Below are the creations he designed and made. The pictures don't do it justice. My mom is now in storage heaven!!!

A table Jon built for my mom's sewing room.A shelf for her laundry room, the top has lamanent like the table.A table for our nephew Aaron.A rotating shelf for the canned goods.A rotating system for cereal on top and then another rotating can shelf for all those cannery cans.

The back wall is full of shelves. It was amazing all the stuff we found, now there is a spot for it all.

Anyone for a Swim?

The other day Jon and I were standing in the kitchen when Ryker came out of his room sporting this amazing outfit.....
He then proceeded to tell us that it still fit, but he couldn't figure out what the two holes were for at the top. We told him they were supposed go around his arms! After deciding he wanted to keep it on, he wanted to go swimming in the tub and of course Miley has to be in the tub if there is water in it! The enjoyment kids are able to come up with:)
So along with this post I will give an update on the baby. We found out that we will be expecting a......little girl. I have no idea how I will handle another...especially if she is as busy Miley. Will I ever get a mellow child! Even though my subchroinic hemorage is still there, she is growing and thriving as she should be. The doctor believes my condition will not go away before she is born, but isn't concerned because it isn't affecting the baby in any way, thank goodness.

Christmas Day

Christmas Day was alot of fun. Ryker enjoyed being around his cousins and going from one toy to another. I don't think the TV was watched for the next couple of days!

I think Ryker's favorite part was unwrapping everything first, then deciding which present he wanted to play with first.

Miley was still a litte confused by what was going on, but who can resist new toys! Whether they're hers on someone elses, she didn't care.

My parents bought this ball pit for the grandkids and boy did they enjoy it. Miley loved to get into and lay with her back on top of the balls. It was so cute.

Finally!

Okay, so I thought it was time I sat down and updated my blog. We will start with Christmas. We had a wonderful Christmas. We spent it with my family in Washington. And to make Ryker a very happy boy, there was lots of snow. So Jon, being the wonderful husband that he is, took Ryker and James sledding. He also let them ride Ryker's motorbike in the snow(Becky I am still waiting for those pictures!). They both had a blast, unless they got snow in the face. We tried to take Miley out, but the second she got snow on her mitten, she was done!:)

Jon taking the kids sledding in the street.

We found an awesome snow suit for Ryker, he was so warm in it, that he never wanted to come inside...poor Jon! James couldn't decide whether he wanted the mask or not, but it did last long enough to get a picture.

After riding around on flat ground, Jon wanted to take the kids to a hill, so we went to a hill not far from my parents house. Little did Jon realize was that not only would he have to push the kids down the hill, he would then have to chase after them so he could pull them back up the hill. Needless to say we only spent a little bit of time at the hill, but they did go back on another day!
