October Snow!

In all my life, the earliest I have seen snow was on Halloween. Well on Friday the Boise area received some snow, breaking a record set in 1969. I am not much of a winter fan so to have it already snow and not get above 50 degrees in October is a little depressing! On Saturady Ryker had a soccer game. He wouldn't play because he was so cold. Half of his team didn't show up either. Miley on the other hand wasn't phased at all and was ready to play for Ryker!

Before the game, we decided we better get Miley a pair of shoes, she loves to be barefoot. Getting used to the new shoes was a balancing act and she doesn't like to keep them on for too long, but she sure does love to chew on them!

For those of you who know my husband, Jon, you know that he can't do things the normal way..most of the time. On Sunday, while at the grandparents, they decided to carve pumpkins. Jon's parents had planted pumpkins, so there was plenty to choose from. Below is a picture of Jon using his power tool of choice, which is a jigsaw, for the activity. What ever happened to using traditional carving knives?
